It’s with sadness I bring you the news that Emilio Diaz, Cameron Diaz’s father, died suddenly early yesterday morning.
The just-58-year-old, a popular resident of Seal Beach, California, recently developed the flu which then turned into pneumonia. His death was “shocking” as Emilio was in “terrific health.” Cameron is currently filming her upcoming flick “My Sister’s Keeper.” A source on the set has said that production on the film has been shut down.
My deepest condolences to Cameron and her family. I ask you all to please respect the Diaz family’s privacy during this time of grieving. Your fans’ thoughts are with you.

I am so saddened by this news. Cameron was so close with her dad and always spoke so highly of him. I can’t even imagine what she’s feeling right now. My heart goes out to her and her family.

I lost my father at 58 as well, and also from pneumonia. Although he was a diabetic, he was in good health just seven days before he died. My prayers are with you at this time and I hope you believe he’s in a better place.

So sorry for your loss. Lost my mom when I was 15, lost my Dad when I was 52…it never gets easier. My prayers are with you and your family.
