>Cameron to get a star on Hollywood’s “Walk of Fame”!

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s “Walk of Fame” Committee has announced that Cameron Diaz will join about 25 others including Robert Downey Jr, Hugh Jackman and Shakira along Hollywood’s “walk of Stars”. The new stars will be placed some time in 2009.

I want to congratulate Cameron (and all the other celebrities as well) for this tremendous honor of recieving a star on the “Walk of Fame”! This means that you’ve really accomplished something in order to be chosen, and for that you must feel proud. I wish many great things for you in the future. Also, I can’t wait to see the ceremony next year.

>Number 14 at Forbes’ “The Celebrity 100″

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Cameron came in at #14 on Forbes.com’s annual “The Celebrity 100″ list of the most powerful celebs. Here’s what they had to say about Miss Diaz.

The highest-paid actress in Hollywood makes or breaks a movie. She’s got the acting chops but is still dogged by ditzy roles. Recently she’s been cashing in on her role as a princess-turned-ogre in the Shrek franchise. Also appeared with Ashton Kutcher in What Happens in Vegas this spring.

>Cameron on Maxim’s Hot 100 list

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

The annual list of Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 women has been revealed, and Cameron came in at #26. Model Marisa Miller was named The hottest woman, with Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel rounding up the top 3. Read what Maxim had to say about Cami in the extract below.

26. Cameron Diaz
Much has been made about how the What Happens in Vegas star is just one of the guys in real life, but really, when was the last time you’d hack off a limb to take a shower with “one of the guys”? According to Cameron, her upringing may be the root of this tomboyish rep. “I grew up with a lot of boys,” she explains. “I probably have a lot of testosterone for a woman.” Cameron, we sincerely doubt that.

>Sit next to Cameron at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas

Thursday, May 8th, 2008
Hollywood’s leading lady, Cameron Diaz, is the newest A-List celebrity to officially land at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. The superstar’s wax likeness was unveiled at the attraction today, amidst a crowd of her biggest fans.

The amazingly life-like figure of Diaz is center stage for a new experience in the attraction entitled Co-Star with “Cameron”. Set under prop lighting and a Vegas backdrop, visitors of the attraction will be able to perch in a matching director’s chair at Cameron’s side, allowing them to become an instantaneous co-star of one of Hollywood’s hottest actors. Armed with a director’s clapboard and a smile, guests will be able to take home a photo documenting their first acting gig with their newest “co-star”.

Arriving at the heels of her latest movie “What Happens in Vegas”, Cameron’s figure strikes a resemblance to her film character, costumed in a similar dress and look. She even dons a replica dice ring worn in the movie. Her wax figure took the work of three principle sculptors from the Tussauds Studios, whom successfully delivered a figure that captures the playful nature of the popular movie actress, along with her iconic grin.

“Cameron Diaz was an easy pick for us. She continually rated high on our Most Requested list with our customers, and she represents what modern day celebrity is all about. We are thrilled to add a mega star such as her to our lineup of celebrities,” stated Madame Tussauds Las Vegas Attraction Manager, Rosita Chapman.

>Cameron Diaz was not hospitalized

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Thanks to Access Hollywood, we can clear up some rumours regarding Cameron’s “hospital visit”. Earlier in the week, reports surfaced claiming that Cameron’s “What Happens in Vegas” co-star, Ashton Kutcher, had told reporters she was receiving “medical attention,” due to the loss of her father.

“These reports are absolutely untrue,” a rep for Cameron told Access Hollywood. “She has taken time off to be with her family and plans to return to work next week.”

Then she was at #62, but this year she comes in at the fantastic #18! Over 9 million voters can’t be wrong - our girl definitely keeps on improving. ;) The sexiest woman according to the poll is “Transformers” star Megan Fox, with Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba rounding up the top three.

>Cameron Diaz’s family pays tribute to her father

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008
Cameron Diaz’s family remembered her father Emilio for his humor and honesty, and said they’re coping with his April 15 death with the help of “an amazing outpouring of love.”

“His love for laughter was undeniable and he embraced life head-on in such a dynamic way that he was impossible to forget,” the family said in an exclusive statement to People Magazine.

Emilio Diaz, 58, died from post-influenza MRSA pneumonia, an aggressive staph infection that can occur in all ages and in otherwise healthy people, the family said.

The Cuban-American Emilio, who is survived by wife Billie and their daughters Cameron, 35, and Chimene, 37, was a “playful abuelo” – Spanish for grandpa – who was “incredibly loyal and dependable” and always ready to “standup up for those who were less fortunate.”

“As a family, it is almost impossible to put into words how amazing Emilio was,” they said. “The one thing that was a certainty with Emilio was that you always knew where you stood with him. He was so honest and always spoke his mind.”

He also “loved to share his love through laughter,” the family said.

“The thing that was most important to him was his family,” they said. “And he often said that his greatest accomplishment was raising two people that were better human beings than he was. He was devoted to each family member equally and was proud of the accomplishments they all made.”

The Diaz family, they said, is dealing with their loss “through support and love from family and friends and the amazing outpouring of love and admiration from those people whose lives Emilio touched.”
